MortgageMax is a wholly owned subsidiary of BetterHome Group and is managed by a team of passionate professionals with extensive experience in banking and mortgage origination. Marketplace

Private Property is a trusted digital property marketplace that provides all South Africans with a platform to buy, sell and rent property. It is the second largest property portal in the country, with almost 3 million unique visitors per month.

BetterHome Group first invested in Private Property in 2017 to ensure a competitive market where real estate professionals could continue to transact with more than one major portal in South Africa. In 2022, we welcomed the opportunity to increase this investment and in 2023, became a majority shareholder in the business with the aim of building a world-class platform and seeing it grow over time to ensure the sustainability of all stakeholders in the property market.

BetterHome Group has strategic investments in several industry leading real estate groups and businesses.

We also have long-standing relationships with national franchise groups and independent agencies and agents who have trusted us to add value to their businesses since BetterBond launched in 2000, and who we continue to support with innovative products and solutions.

In 2015, BetterHome Group helped fund the first major real estate empowerment transaction in South Africa and in doing so, became a preference shareholder in RE/MAX SA. In the same year, we entered into similar preference-share transactions with RealNet, Chas Everitt and Tyson Properties. In 2022, we concluded a real estate transaction with Fine & Country and in 2024, entered into a strategic partnership with Just Property.
